MUURMEESTERS X FRANS HALS MUSEUM
join forces and bring a unique collaboration with the ‘Haerlemsche Meesters’ collection
The Frans Hals Museum and Muurmeesters are joining forces to make masterpieces of old Haarlem painters accessible. Together we are introducing the new collection Haerlemsche Meesters, high-quality reproductions of old masters from the collection of the Frans Hals Museum for your wall: at home, in the office or in the hospitality industry.
Frans Hals (c. 1582 – 1666) is the most famous painter of the ‘Golden Age’ from Haarlem. He was a virtuoso portraitist who immortalised many prominent but also everyday citizens of his time. Frans Hals was a master in depicting liveliness and movement. He is also famous for his magnificent use of colour and virtuoso brushwork. The ‘master of the loose stroke’ was even regarded as a great example by the Impressionists.

Frans Hals Museum Director Ann Demeester:
“The Frans Hals Museum makes art as accessible as possible, both in the museum and at home. And that is exactly what Muurmeesters does; bringing old masters to your home. Besides the famous paintings by Frans Hals, more masterpieces have been added to our collection. It is great to join forces this way, to make art at home possible and put Frans Hals and Haarlem in the worldwide picture.”
